HAPPY 5TH ANNIVERSARY.

I feel truly sorry for myself that I haven't seen any pictures from the celebration but I've seen some. ESPECIALLY THE TVXQ FLY ONE. OMGSH CASSIOPEIA IS THE BEST EVAAAAAAARR.

These are the times when I feel truly touched as a fan. When you know that you're not alone and that there are other (more like a million others. CASSIOPEIA FTW.) people that love them as much as you do and somehow, you can all get along just because of that one simple thing.

Honestly, I didn't know I'd like them this much. Cause first time I heard about them I laughed. Srsly. I was like, UKnow?? Hero?? Micky?? What kind of names are those??? Plus what kind of name's XIAH???

The whole Korean boyband concept got to me too, so I promptly brushed them off. If I didn't like the Backstreet Boys, how could I like them?

But Balloons (and O. And Rising Sun. And My Destiny.) and Changmin's antlers got to me the minute I saw them. There was a part of me that was in denial at first, that said, Nina nooooo. Not them, noooooo~ This'll be like, a flavor of the day thing for you.

They have proved me wrong, obviously.

I can still remember the first five TVXQ songs I downloaded: My Destiny, O, HiYaYa, Balloons, and Miss You.

I can remember the reaction I had when I found out Yunho had been poisoned (that was a gasp of outrage), when Jaejoong had the DUI case (that was an echoing noooo throughout the whole day I found out), and when I first got my hands on the First and Second Storybooks, first and second singles, and their first album: an outright scream. And I can definitely remember where I first got those: in school, when we asked for them from a Korean friend. I literally ran across the classroom to get them. Chemistry was our first subject and I was bugging my Korean seatmate (who was a hater, but has now silenced his hate in light of my reactions. ie, glaring at him, punching him, not giving him answers during seatworks) to translate them while taking down notes regarding Mendeleev and the octet rule.

I've prolly watched every single variety show they've been on, and they honestly never fail to make me laugh. It's one of the things I love most about them: they're real people, and you can see and feel that. People say that you can't know someone by watching them on the TV or on YouTube. Try telling that to the odd-million Cassies around the world.

My iPod is filled with their songs. A whole playlist is dedicated to them, and the top played songs is too. Just in case youy're interested, my top played is O, which I've listened to (apparently) 400++ times already. The songs just get to me, especially the ballads. The vocals are just amazing (:

Course, all these and a million little things combined to convert me (that, and the Jaejoong v Changmin Dangyunhaji game on X-Man).

The humility despite the triumph, the strength despite the countless obstacles they've encountered, and the unmistakeable bond. All those combined to pull me in and I'm in no hurry to get back out.

Happy 5th anniversary, TVXQ!
